Xiaomi as a brand is getting into almost everything, from smartphones to television to cameras to air purifiers among others, and now, it has launched its first drone called the Xiaomi Mi Drone in China. The new product from the Chinese technology giant could turn into a big hit considering its affordable pricing.
The Chinese technology giant had earlier teased on its official MIUI forum that its first drone will be launched in China on May 25. "Something wonderful and cool is flying to us very soon," Xiaomi said on its official MIUI Blog.
The Xiaomi Mi Drone has now being listed on the company's official Mi website (via PhoneArena). It comes in two models, one with a 1080p camera priced at 2,500 Yuan (around $380/Rs. 25,600) and the other with a 4K camera costing 3,000 Yuan (around $460/Rs. 30,800).
According to PhoneArena, the Mi drone is modular, which will make servicing easy, as parts like camera, rotors and others can be detached from the body. The drone has a remote where one can attach a Xiaomi smartphone and use it as a viewfinder. It is also powered by a 5,100mAh battery.
Like other Xiaomi products, the Mi Drone will be sold first in its home country. The company is yet to announce its available in other markets, including India.
