Xiaomi fans have something to look up to this season, as the company has a couple of devices in the offing. It is expected to release the Mi 4C next week before the much-awaited Mi 5 is unveiled next month.
The Xiaomi Mi 5 will be announced by the end of November, according to a report by WCCF Tech citing sources from Beijing.
It was earlier reported that Xiaomi Mi 5 could be announced in July and released in August before rumours started doing rounds that it will be unveiled on 24 September. However, this is very unlikely as the Chinese smartphone maker is expected to bring its Mi 4C on 22 September.
How will Xiaomi Mi 5 stake up against Mi 4?
Xiaomi is yet to reveal the release date and specifications of Mi 5 but several leaks have claimed that it will come with several feature upgrades over its predecessor.
According to leaks and reports that have surfaced so far, Xiaomi Mi 5 will sport a 5.2-inch QHD touchscreen with 2560 x 1440 pixels screen resolution and protected by Gorilla Glass 4. Under the hoods, it is expected to have Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 or Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor clocking at 1.8GHz, Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, 32/64 GB internal memory, 4 GB RAM, 16 MP main camera with optical Image stabilisation (OIS), 5 MP secondary snapper, and a 3,000mAh battery.
The device is also expected to come with features like fingerprint sensor and Type-C USB port. It is expected to be priced at $399 (approximately Rs 26,500).
On the other hand, Xiaomi Mi 4 has a five-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 1080 x 1920 pixels (441ppi pixel density), Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, Android 4.4.3 KitKat, 16/64 GB internal memory, 3 GB RAM, 13 MP main camera, 8 MP front snapper, and a non-removable Li-Ion 3,080 mAh battery.
