Xiaomi ended the flash sale fiasco this week by selling its latest Mi 5 and Redmi Note 3 smartphones without registrations in India. Now, the Chinese smartphone maker has announced the next sale date for both its handsets, which will be available exclusively on Mi.com/in.
According to the Mi 5 and the Redmi Note 3 listing on the company's online store, both handsets will be available for purchase on Wednesday, May 4, from 2 p.m. onwards. Unlike previously, customers can directly go to the site and purchase the desired smartphone without having to register for it in advance. The Mi 5 is priced at Rs. 24,999, while the Redmi Note 3 costs Rs. 9,999 and Rs. 11,999 for 16GB and 32GB models, respectively.
Xiaomi will also be making its highest capacity power bank available for shoppers next Wednesday. The 20,000mAh Mi power bank, which can charge Mi 5 to full six times and comes with rapid self-charging tech, will be available without registration for Rs. 1,699.
For those who are unaware, Xiaomi Mi 5 is the company's latest flagship, but priced at a much lower price tag when compared against the likes of Samsung and Apple devices. In terms of specifications, the Mi 5 comes with a 5.15-inch Full HD display, 16MP primary camera, 4MP front camera and a 3000mAh Quick Charge battery.
Xiaomi Mi 5 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 CPU, 3GB RAM and has 32GB onboard storage. Both smartphones support 4G LTE, dual SIM cards, VoLTE and run Android Marshmallow-based MIUI 7 out-of-the-box. Premium features such as metal unibody, fingerprint scanner, USB Type-C port and VoLTE support adds more value to the handset.
For those who find the Mi 5 smartphone a tad pricey, Xiaomi has a budget offering too. The Redmi Note 3 is a premium-looking device with an affordable price tag. It comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD display, 16MP primary camera, 5MP front snapper and a 4,050mAh battery. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor, 2GB/3GB RAM and 16GB/32GB storage.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 also has a fingerprint scanner at the back of the phone and a premium metal finish. The handset has received a favourable response in India as it successfully completed a series of flash sales not just on Mi.com, but also on Amazon India simultaneously.
