Xiaomi may have disappointed its fans by holding off the launch of Redmi Note 2. But the company is trying to compensate it with the all-new Mi 4i Limited Edition. The upgraded variant of the recently-released handset will go on sale on Tuesday, 25 August at 2pm on the company's official online store. Buyers can choose from Blue, Pink and Yellow colours at Rs 12,999.
The new model features a better display, upgraded from 720p screen to Full HD (1080p) screen and 441ppi. Other specifications of the handset remain the same, such as its second-gen 64-bit 1.7GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, 2GB RAM and Adreno 405 GPU for graphics. The handset offers limited storage of 16GB and 32GB space.
Xiaomi Mi 4i Limited Edition packs the same 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with LED flash as the original variant and has a 5MP snapper in the front. There's a 3,120mAh battery unit serving as the powerhouse.
The dual SIM Mi 4i Limited Edition is 4G LTE-enabled on both slots and includes other connectivity options such as 3G, GPRS/EDGE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi Direct, NFC, USB OTG and micro USB. The handset runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop with Xiaomi's own MIUI 6 on top.
Xiaomi Mi 4i is eligible to receive the MIUI 7 when available and it can be updated to run the beta version of the newly-release software.
Currently, Xiaomi Mi 4i is available in Grey and White hues on Flipkart. Xiaomi's online store simply shows the handset's listing and product sale date and time. There is no option for buyers to register, which could mean the limited edition variant will be openly available like the original handset.
