The rumoured Xiaomi Mi 4C, understood to be the advanced version of Mi 4i, will reportedly make its debut in a few weeks, says a new report from China.
Technology community blog Xiaomi Today citing sources has claimed that the new Xiaomi Mi 4C will be unveiled on 24 September and go on sale on 3 October.
Xiaomi Mi 4C, internally known as Libra, is said to boast 64-bit class1.8GHz Snapdragon 808 Hexa-core processor, Adreno 418 graphics engine, 2GB RAM, 13mp camera on the rear-side, a 5mp snapper on the front, 4G-LTE network support and 3080 mAh battery. But, the most interesting part in the leaked package is that it reveals Mi 4C will boast reversible Type-C USB port, which is said to become an industry standard in 2016. OnePlus 2 is the only phone with Type-C port in the market.
All the features revealed in the package are in line with the AnTuTu benchmark results reported last week. Xiaomi Mi 4C is expected to be an upgraded version of Mi 4i, which was launched a months ago in select markets of Asia. It is expected to cost ¥1299 Yuan (around $204/€181/₹13,530).
However, sources add that Xiaomi will be releasing the device in limited quantities, around 100,000 units only. As of now, there is no word on the reason behind this sales strategy.
Besides Mi 4C, the company is also working on the dual-edge curved display-based smartphone, dubbed as Mi Edge, which is expected to be released in October.
