Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has finally set the official launch date for the Mi 4C.
Lin Bin on Weibo, the company's president and co-founder, confirmed that the new Mi 4C will be unveiled on 22 September, exactly a one month after Xiaomi's fifth anniversary.
The company is expected to officially announce the features, price and other details of the Mi 4C on 22 September.
As per recent reports, the Xiaomi Mi 4C is said to be the advanced version of the Xiaomi Mi 4i, which was launched in India early this year.
It is expected to sport a 5.0-inch full HD Sharp/JDI display and come shipped with Android 5.1 based MIUI v7.0 OS, backed by a 1.8GHz Snapdragon 808 Hexa-core processor, 2GB RAM, 13mp camera on the rear-side, a 5mp snapper on the front, 4G-LTE network support and a 3080 mAh.
My Drivers, citing sources, has claimed that the Xiami Mi 4C will be released in two variants – 16GB/2GB RAM and 32GB/3GB RAM combination. The former model is said to cost ¥1499 ($235/€210/Rs 15,630), but there is no official word on the latter.
Rumours are rife that the top-end model might be priced $50/$75 more than that of the base variant. Both the models are expected to hit stores initially in China on 3 October. Stay tuned for more updates.
