Noticing the huge demand for smartwatch devices, Mi and Redmi famed phone maker Xiaomi is reportedly working on an affordable model. The round-dial smartwatch will be released this November, GizmoChina reported.
The smartwatch is expected to be named as Mi Watch and will purportedly pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 System on Chipset, which has also been used in Xiaomi's cheapest available smartphone Redmi 2 and Redmi 1S. The SoC will be coupled with 520MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage.
Like Moto 360 and LG G Watch R, Mi Watch will also feature a round-dial measuring 1.3-inch.
The report further described that the smartwatch is expected to be sold this year for $96, which roughly translates to Rs 6,120.
Though the specification is quite similar to few of the smartwatches available in the market, Xiaomi might play with the pricing, likely selling it almost 25 percent to 40 percent less than the competitors.
The report didn't mention the operating system, which will be running on Mi Watch. But noticing the trend, we speculate it will run on Android Wear.
Xiaomi has also completed an year in India since it debuted with Mi 3. Celebrating the success, they launched a 32GB edition of Mi 4i for Rs 14,999.
The 32GB edition will be available on sale on 28 July through Xiaomi's India official store Mi.com/in. The device will retain the 5.0-inch, 1920x1080 pixels JDI OGS display, 3120 mAh battery, 2nd generation Snapdragon 615 processor and 4GB RAM.
