Xiaomi has finally launched the Redmi Note Smartphone series in India. Though the Mi brand announced the device in India at the beginning of the year, Xiaomi Redmi Note wasn't available for purchase for some unknown reason.
The Redmi Note Smartphone went on sale in Indonesia on 13 November and in an exclusive press meet Xiaomi unveiled it in India on Monday.
The Mi brand held a contest on its India Facebook fan page and offered winners a Redmi Note device. Xiaomi conducted similar contests before unveiling Mi3 and Redmi 1s too.
The Redmi Note will be available via Flipkart through their flash sale strategy from Monday onwards.
The company has stopped selling Xiaomi Mi 3 in India but the Redmi 1s is still on offer via their exclusive online seller Flipkart. Users need to pre-register for purchasing the device. And on every Tuesday of the week, a sale is held on first-come-first-serve basis. Once Redmi Note is made available in India, Redmi 1s is expected to be phased out. The Redmi and Mi devices are now also available on eBay.
Following the Redmi Note release, it is expected that Xiaomi will also start selling its Mi 4 Smartphones.
