As reported earlier, Xiaomi unveiled the much anticipated second generation Redmi 1S in China on Sunday, 4 January.
On the outlook, the new Redmi 2 looks a little identical to its predecessor with a few cosmetic changes like placing of LED flash and speaker to the right and left side of the camera-module respectively.
Under the hood, it houses 64-bit class Snapdragon 410 CPU with Adreno 405 graphics engine, 1GB RAM, 8GB inbuilt memory (expandable up to 32GB) and a 2,200mAh battery.
Xiaomi Redmi 2 Price and Availability details:
In terms of internal hardware specifications, the Xiaomi Redmi 2 is a modest upgrade to Redmi 1S. However, its price-tag of ¥699 (around $113/€94/₹7,120) is certain to be a huge hit among price-sensitive consumers like its predecessor, especially in emerging markets such as China, India and other South Asian regions.
Xiaomi Redmi 2 will be made available for pre-order from Sunday and would released on 9 January in China, reported Gizmo China.
However, the details regarding its availability in India are still under wraps.
