After weeks of speculations, Xiaomi finally took the wraps off the much anticipated Redmi Note 4 in Beijing on Thursday.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 sports a metal-alloy cover on the back with chamfered edges created using the CNC (Computer Controlled Cutting) tool. In the front, it boasts a 5.5-inch full HD display with 2.5D Gorilla Glass shield.
Under the hood, it comes packed with MediaTek Helio X20 deca-core, which clocks CPU speed up to a staggering 2.1GHz, 2GB/3GB RAM, 16GB/64GB inbuilt storage and a massive 4,100mAh battery enough to keep the phone running for a whole day under heavy usage.
It also houses a 13MP primary camera with f/2.0 aperture, dual-tone LED flash and a 5MP front snapper with 85-degree wide-angle view of field feature.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 release and price details:
Xiaomi Redmi Note comes in two models—16GB+2GB RAM and 64GB+3GB RAM configurations for ¥899 ($135/€120/Rs. 9,069) and ¥1199 ($180/€160/Rs.12,083), respectively.
Both the variants will be made available in three colour options -- dark grey, gold and silver -- and are expected to go on sale in China via Mi.com store, China Mobile and other online stores Aug. 26 onwards.
Will it be launched in India?
Yes, the Redmi Note 4 is most likely to make its debut in India. It's predecessor is a huge hit in the country. The company sold record-breaking 880,000 units in the second quarter of 2016, making it the highest selling smartphone online in any quarter to date. It has so far sold 1.75 million Redmi Note 3s in India, since its launch in March.
Hence Xiaomi is sure to release the new phone in the country, but with a change in the CPU component, as the Chinese company is embroiled in a court battle with Swedish telecommunication firm Ericsson over a LTE patent infringement.
Even Redmi Note 3, which was launched in China in late December 2015, came with MediaTek processor, but to avoid the legal complication, the model bound for India was re-fitted with Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 series processor.
