Popular Chinese smartphone-maker Xiaomi is reportedly planning to launch a new device next week.
Xiaomi (via Weibo) has confirmed that the company will be hosting an event on 16 July. It also posted a cryptic image with letters 'PK' and the stem of letter K is animated into a slim phone having a shiny metallic frame, inciting speculations that the company might unveil the much-awaited flagship Xiaomi Mi5 on coming Thursday. Its predecessor Mi4 was launched a year ago, on 22 July 2014 to be precise).

But, this is contrary to recent reports that indicated Xiaomi had postponed the flagship Mi 5 launch to November this year.
Another theory that is making rounds in the internet is that Xiaomi might launch Redmi Note 2, which is also due for long time. The first gen Redmi Note was also unveiled in July last year.
As of now, nothing is set on stone. We just have to wait a few more days to finally know what Xiaomi has in store for us.
Expected Features of Xiaomi Mi5:
Xiaomi Mi5 is said to have 5.2-inch QHD (2,560x1,440p) display with Gorilla Glass 4 shield and ship with Snapdragon 810 Octa-core CPU, 16mp main camera, 13mp snapper on the front and 3,000mAh battery. It is expected to be priced at ¥2,399 (around $386/€350/₹24,575).
Expected Specifications of Xiaomi Redmi Note 2:
As per reports, Redmi Note 2 will keep 5.5-inch screen size of its predecessor, but its resolution will be bumped up from HD (1,280px720p) to full HD (1,920x720p).
Under the hood, it is said to house a 64-bit class Mediatek (MT6795) Helio X10 Octa-core SoC (System on Chip) powered by Android Lollipop (either v5.0.2 or v5.1with MIUI skin).
Redmi Note 2 is also expected to be shipped with a 13mp camera on the rear side, a 5mp snapper on the front and to power the energy-hogging full HD screen, it will be equipped with more than 3,000mAh charged cell.
