Popular Chinese consumer electronics major Xiaomi is reportedly planning to launch two marquee products - Mi5 and Redmi Note 2 - this week.
On 13 January, Xiaomi as part of promotional activity over the upcoming 15 January flagship device launch event, has released a cryptic poster hinting company might announce two devices, not one as previously reported.
In the official Facebook poster, Xiaomi has showed hands holding two invisible handsets with a tag '_____ is better than one';
The cryptic message is very ambiguous; it might be taken in two ways. One, the company is indicating that it may unveil second generation Redmi Note or might announce two devices, understood to be Mi5 and Redmi Note 2.
But it is too early to assume Xiaomi to launch two marquee phones Mi5 and Redmi Note 2 at a single event for two reasons.
Firstly, Xiaomi Mi4 got unveiled just a little over five months ago and secondly, it is yet to hit stores in India, company's second biggest market.
One popular theory that is doing rounds in the Internet is that the rumoured Redmi Note 2 may make its debut on Thursday and the company may give Mi4 to complete one-year cycle and launch Mi5 in the second half of 2015.
Even the rival Samsung too follows the same business strategy of releasing one flagship device per six months. It is slated to announce Galaxy S6 smartphone in late February (or early March) and launch Galaxy Note 4 successor phablet later in August/September.
We in our bid to cover all possible scenarios, we have one more report to add. Rumour has it that the Chinese company may launch the dual-edge display phone dubbed as Xiaomi Arch.
Some may say it is little far-fetched to assume Xiaomi launch such a advanced handset considering that the company is accused of aping Apple iPhone designs on Mi-series smartphone.
But, Xiaomi in its bid to shed the bad image in the western markets, might surprise us all by announcing the Arch. It is said that with the introduction of dual-curved display on the sides, users will be able to place easy-to-access shortcuts of their favourite apps in the extra-space.
If the rumour turns out be true, Xiaomi Arch will become the world's first dual-edge display smartphone to hit the market.

As of now, nothing is set on stone. The company is yet to respond the media regarding the speculations. We are left with no choice but to wait for Xiaomi to officially announce the details in a couple of days time.
For the uninitiated, Xiaomi is hosting the flagship device launch event on 15 January at the National Conference Centre in Beijing. The company has also confirmed to webcast live event online as well.
