Latest pictures suggest Xiaomi may be working on a newer edition of their successful budget tablet, Redmi Note. A report in Gizmo China published two leaked pictures of the back panel along with some specification of this smartphone.
Going by the pictures, it appears that Xiaomi might be experimenting with the looks of their future smartphones. The black-colour glossy panel shows that Redmi Note 2 might feature the rear camera on the top-left corner rather than the center, and also may pair dual LED flash instead of featuring a single LED. The panel also shows the mi logo has been placed at the bottom of the panel, but there are no visible vents on the panel for the speaker grille.
According to the report, the future Redmi Note will retain the 5.5-inch display size, but will revamp it using a 1080p display. Rumour has it that the future edition of Redmi Note might utilize the 64-bit computing, which has newly introduced to the android platform with Lollipop OS and might boast a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 or the Meditek made MT6572 SoC. The system-on-chip is purportedly about to get bundled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of inbuilt memory.
On the camera front, Redmi Note 2 is supposed to feature a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. The leak further explains the device might be powered by a 3000 mAh battery and might be running on Android 4.4 Kitkat OS with a MIUI 6 interface layer on top.
The article also mentions the Redmi Note 2 might be released between 21 January and 28 January, 2015. Meanwhile, Xiaomi India chief Manu Jain has asserted the company might start selling their latest flagship smartphone mi4, mi fitness band and mi Smart TVs soon in India. He has also added to launch Xiaomi's India exclusive e-commerce portal.
