Microsoft has revealed that Xbox One owners would be entitled to free launch game only if their console is going through a faulty disc drive issue. This means that those who have consoles that are bricked or crash-prone are not eligible to receive the free launch game.
Apart from this, users who's Xbox One suffers from an Internet connection problem or any type of Kinect-related issues, will also not be eligible for the free launch game.
"The digital download is only for the folks having issues with their disc drive because we want to ensure our advance exchange customers can stay in the game," a Microsoft representative told CNet.
Microsoft also addressed those owners who have been struggling with faulty disc-drive issues and promised to direct them to its advance exchange programme, which ensures delivery of a replacement console. It also gave away one of four Microsoft studios launch titles for free, which the players can download without using the disc drive.
While users who own a console with a number of errors as well as a faulty disc drive are eligible to receive the replacement and the free game, users struggling with a bug-filled console but a disc drive in working condition will receive just the replacement, excluding the game.
