The latest trailer of "X-Men: Apocalypse" has revealed several plot elements of 20th Century Fox's upcoming venture based on Marvel comic book of the same name. It seems that the next movie in "X-Men" series will be significantly different from the previous movies of the franchise.
All Marvel fans, along with the critics, are looking forward to watching the movie as it will be released just a month after Marvel's another highly-anticipated film, "Captain America: Civil War."
However, Fox has its fingers crossed and is surely trying its best to tighten all the loose ends. After the disaster of "Fantastic Four" reboot last year, the production company is determined to never let such a mistake happen ever again.
Nevertheless, 2016 has been a good year for Fox till now as its previous Marvel movie, "Deadpool," was met with positive response from the fans and critics. According to Daily Mail, it became the highest-grossing R-rated comic book film.
Though the new trailer of "X-Men: Apocalypse" was also praised by the viewers and fans of the comic book, Fox is yet to recover completely from the tragedy of "Fantastic Four" that was termed as the worst superhero movie ever made and, as stated by Screen Rant, bagged several awards at 36th Golden Raspberry Awards in 2015.
Even though the "Fantastic Four" experience was devastating for Fox, the overwhelming response that both the trailers of "X-Men: Apocalypse" has received is surely encouraging.
If the upcoming X-Men movie that serves as a sequel to 2014's "X-Men: Days of Future Past" meets the expectations, undoubtedly it will add to Fox's ever-growing success and will finally eliminate the embarrassment it faced due to "Fantastic Four."
"X-Men: Apocalypse" is scheduled to release May 27, 2016, in North America in 3D and 2D.
