"The X Factor" UK 2015 semi-final is over, and its results may shock many. Lauren Murray was shown the door on Sunday despite her good performance on Saturday.
Lauren Murray from Rita Ora's GIRLS and Che Chesterman from Nick Grimshaw's BOYS were pitted against each other after receiving the fewest public votes. Lauren sang Rachel Platten's "Fight Song" in the sing-off, but the otherwise bubbly cheerful artiste seemed to know her end had come as she was in tears even before completing the performance.
Che on the other hand looked composed as he belted out Simon And Garfunkel's "Bridge Over Troubled Water".
As expected, Nick voted Che for his act, while Rita voted in favour of her girl Lauren. Coming to the neutral judges, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini announced her decision to send Lauren home but Simon Cowell decided to let audience decide their fate. And Lauren was eliminated from the show based on public votes.
The results may shock many as Lauren's performance in the semi-final was impressive, at least better than Reggie N Bollie who messed up with their rendition of "Locked Away" by R City featuring Adam Levine. She has been taking on challenging songs since she entered the show unlike others who chose to take the safe route. Her performance of "Runnin' (Lose It All)" by Naughty Boy, featuring Beyonce, Arrow Benjamin and "Best Of My Love" by The Emotions on Saturday was beautiful but she is out of the competition now.
Earlier in the show, it was announced that Reggie N Bollie from Cheryl Fernandez-Versini's GROUPS and Louisa Johnson were safe.
Now, Reggie N Bollie, Che Chesterman and Louisa Johnson will take on each other in next week's finale at the Wembley SSE Arena.
