What came as a surprise, the WWE announced a surprise return of Vince McMahon. However, for all the excitement and hype, the reason for the same is unknown.
Bryan Alvarez, who is one of the most trusted voice in WWE universe, made this observation quite recently that McMahon might be returning to infuse more life and shake up Monday Night Raw. He could also hand a number of NXT superstars their debut ahead of the Royal Rumble.
"I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if Vince showed up on Monday and he fired Baron Corbin and maybe he debuted a few guys and he really shook the thing up and he gave us some matches we want to see and a few happy endings and the show ends and everyone's really excited. If that happens, everybody's got to remember there's still gotta be another show next week," he said via Ringsidenews.
Welcome entry to the universe
McMahon, who has been missing from the ring since last October when he was present at the 1000th episode of SmackDown along with Stephanie and Shane McMahon, could well be a welcome entry to the universe.
However, despite this announcement, as of now the biggest headline remains centred around Baron Corbin and whether or not he gets the General Manager's seat. If this happens, McMahon's entry makes all the sense particularly because Stephanie is the commissioner of Raw.
It is no secret that the viewership of RAW has tanked in the recent past and the stakeholders are convinced that with the return of Vince McMahon, it could see a bump. However, this move could well backfire as the viewers are aware of the fact that he was the person who was responsible for the rather timid episodes in WWE over the past few weeks.
There is no dearth of talent or pedigree in WWE and people need to understand that they have to fix scheduling accordingly and not merely bank on the arrival and appearance of the former boss.
