New details have emerged for "WWE 2K17," the upcoming simulation professional wrestling video game from publisher 2K Games. The company has announced via a press release that Goldberg, WWE and WCW star, is set for his return and work with WWE after 12 years, but as a pre-order bonus for "WWE 2k17."
Bill Goldberg will be available in two of his personas: one in his WCW avatar and another WWE avatar for "WWE 2K17." Players will also be receiving new arenas — WCW Monday Nitro and WCW Halloween Havoc.
"Best known for his unprecedented 173-0 singles competition win streak in WCW from 1997 to 1998, Goldberg will appear in WWE 2K17 through two playable characters representing his WCW and WWE personas," read the statement.
Goldberg revealed the secret behind his return. According to the former wrestler, his son was influential in his decision to come back.
"It's a dream come true," Goldberg said to WWE.com. "To be able to come back and be included in WWE 2K17, it's a huge honor."
Goldberg spoke on the possible rivals he would like to enjoy in the game. "There are a number of people that I never got the opportunity to wrestle in an actual ring that I'd love to make happen for the first time in 'WWE 2K17.' I'd love to wrestle a Bruiser Brody from the past. I'd love to wrestle Andre the Giant from the past," said Goldberg.
IGN reported that though the company did not share any specifics about release, October is suggested as the release window. The trailer that the company released also contained logos of PS3 and Xbox 360.
"WWE 2K16" had the largest number of roster than any of the previous "WWE" video games.
