Upcoming professional wrestling simulation video game "WWE 2K17" from 2K Sports has announced that WWE Superstar Brock Lesnar is the cover star for its game. Lesnar would be taking on the mantle from Stone Cold Steve Austin, who was on the cover on last year's WWE 2K game.
2K noted on its official website post that it was "proud" to add Lesnar as "WWE 2K17 Cover Superstar." He would now be part of the "distinguished list" of former superstars.
It reiterated the fact that Lesnar has been successful in competing at WWE, UFC or NCAA Division I wrestling and has been known by names like Beast Incarnate, Mayor of Suplex City and Champion.
"My career has been defined by dominating every opportunity presented to me," said Lesnar. "I am excited for my newest opportunity representing WWE 2K17 as the franchise's ambassador and honored to serve as the WWE 2K17 cover Superstar," he added.
The post also noted that Lesnar tried his hand at the NFL Career and Mixed Martial Arts with successful stint at UFC. He has announced a one-off return to MMA at UFC 200 on July 9.
Lesnar would be participating at the WWE event, SummerSlam on Aug, 21, 2016.
Paul Heyman, manager for Lesnar, issued a statement that noted the Beast's desire to conquer all the "gaming platforms" and his "embodiment of unadulterated excellence" would generate interest among gamers and his fans.
It was also announced that the game will feature Suplex City as a destination. The trailer shows some "brief flashes" of "terrifying locale."
"WWE 2K17" will be releasing on Oct. 11, 2016 for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
