Worldwide box office collection: Will Salman's 'Sultan' beat the record of 'Baahubali' and cross the Rs. 300 crore mark in India?

Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma-starrer "Sultan" enjoyed a good box office run worldwide, but the theatrical run has slowed down and will soon end. During the course of its four-week run, "Sultan" shattered several box office records, but the film failed to break a few.

"Sultan," directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, was released worldwide on July 6 in 5,450 screens. The film took off on a great note and earned Rs. 30+ crore in the first five days. The film later went on to shatter records and become the third biggest grosser of all time.

After becoming the third biggest grosser, "Sultan" was expected to beat the lifetime box office collection record of "Baahubali: The Beginning," which earned Rs. 586.45 crore. "Sultan" needs Rs. 16.72 crore to beat the records, as its worldwide income now stands at Rs. 569.73 crore. But it is unlikely that the film will shatter the record of "Baahubali."

"Sultan" collection has dropped massively in its fourth week and the film has been earning in lakhs. It looks a bit difficult for the film to earn over Rs. 16 crore in its remaining theatrical run worldwide, but the overseas collection might take its total to over Rs. 586.45 crore to beat "Baahubali."

Meanwhile, the film is also approaching the Rs. 300 crore mark at the domestic box office. The film has earned Rs. 297.56 crore nett and requires just Rs. 2.5 crore to touch that mark. However, it remains to be seen whether the film will earn Rs. 300 crore by the end of its fourth week or by the fifth weekend.
