Bollywood film "Tanu Weds Manu Returns" had a sensational box office opening not just in India, but also abroad. According to latest reports, the movie has collected more than ₹38 crore in India and ₹17 crore overseas, taking the total collection to ₹55 crore.
With this, "Tanu Weds Manu Returns" has beaten "Piku" to become the biggest opener of 2015 overseas. The overseas opening weekend collection of "Piku" was ₹14.52 crore.

While the exact first weekend worldwide box office collection figures are awaited, trade analysts believe the collection would have crossed that of Akshay Kumar starrer "Gabbar is Back".
According to Bollywood Hungama, the first weekend overseas collection of "Tanu Weds Manu Returns" in various regions is as follows.
United Kingdom and Ireland: ₹1.70 crore (60 screens)
Australia: ₹98.02 lakhs (19 Screens)
NewZealand: ₹17.84 lakhs (5 Screens)
Malaysia: ₹2.33 lakhs (1 Screen)
"Piku", which enjoyed a good run in the first two weeks, is going strong at the box office in the third weekend as well. Its worldwide box office collection has crossed the ₹100-crore mark.
According to trade analyst Taran Adarash, the collection reached reached $5.36 million [₹34.09 crore], while the domestic collection of Deepika Padukone starrer is ₹71.72 crore till now.
