Shah Rukh Khan's "Fan" might not have wooed audiences in India, but the film fared well at the overseas box office, which took its worldwide box office collection to good figures. The thriller drama minted Rs. 137.11 crore from the worldwide box office in six days.
"Fan" minted Rs. 68.35 crore net collection (Rs. 97.64 crore gross) from the domestic box office in six days. The domestic collection is dropping with each day, but still the film managed to score the second-highest first week box office collection for a Bollywood movie released this year.
"Fan Fri 19.20 cr, Sat 15.40 cr, Sun 17.75 cr, Mon 6.05 cr, Tue 5.75 cr, Wed 4.20 cr. Total: ₹ 68.35 cr. India biz," trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.
Shah Rukh-starrer "Fan" will take its first-week net box office collection to over Rs. 70 crore and gross first-week collection to Rs. 100 crore.
In India, the film's box office performance remained below expectations, but at the overseas centres "Fan" emerged as a winner. The film minted over Rs. 40 crore from its opening weekend run at the overseas box office.
The UAE-GCC, Pakistan and North America market contributed to the overseas box office earnings more compared to other countries. From the UAE-GCC box office alone, the film minted Rs. 15.61 crore, from the U.S.-Canada it raked in Rs. 8.91 crore and from Pakistan more than Rs. 5 crore in its opening weekend.
"Fan" minted Rs. 3.85 crore from the U.K. box office, Rs. 1.57 crore from Australia, Rs. 46 lakh from New Zealand, Rs. 66 lakh from Germany and from the Rest of the World it minted Rs. 8.22 crore.
Adding the Rs. 40 crore overseas income, the worldwide box office collection of "Fan" stands at Rs. 137.11 crore. "Fan" will cross the Rs. 150 crore at the worldwide box office in week one with the help of its domestic and overseas collection.
