Worldwide box office collection: Salman's Prem Ratan Dhan Payo becomes 5th highest grosser

Salman Khan's "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" continues to climb the ladder at the worldwide box office. After beating the records of "Happy New Year" and "3 Idiots", "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" has now grossed Rs 400 crore at the worldwide box office.

"Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" is now the fifth highest worldwide grosser of all time. It is also the fifth Bollywood film to take its gross worldwide income to more than Rs 400 crore.

"#PRDP to cross ₹ 400 cr gross worldwide today. India ₹ 207.4 cr till Mon [₹ 305 cr gr] + Oseas $ 14.2 mn [₹ 93.7 cr gr]. Total: ₹ 398.7 cr," trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.

"Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" is now looking forward to beat the worldwide lifetime box office earnings of Shah Rukh Khan's "Chennai Express". However, the box office earnings of "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" has declined drastically after the release of "Tamasha", making it difficult to achieve more than "Chennai Express" lifetime gross income of Rs 423 crore.

Meanwhile, Salman's "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" has created a record by becoming the biggest Diwali grosser ever.

At the domestic box office, "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" is the seventh highest grosser, while at the overseas box office, it is the eighth highest grosser. Check out the list of domestic and overseas earnings here and here.
