With three centuries in his last four Test innings -- Ajinkya Rahane is kind of making a habit of scoring those crucial hundreds when India need them. Rahane scored his seventh Test ton, on day three of the second Test match against the West Indies at Sabina Park in Jamaica on Monday.
This century was his fifth away from home. The previous four came against New Zealand, England, Australia and Sri Lanka. This was also his first Test ton against the West Indies.
Rahane was on 108, when India skipper Virat Kohli decided to declare the innings with India holding a lead of 304 runs. Rain did play spoilsport on Day 3 of the second Test match in Jamaica, but that did not stop Rahane from scoring a gritty hundred.
He already averages more than 44 in the longest format of the game and he has played just 24 matches so far. He could have added two more overseas centuries to his name had he not gotten out in the nervous nineties against South Africa in Durban and against Bangladesh in Fatullah.
Twitter heaped praise on the Mumbai batsman after he achieved the milestone against the West Indies.
Here are a few of them.
