Todd J Greenwald's three-time Emmy won show "Wizards of Waverly Place" premiered 8 years ago on 12 October. The series won so many hearts that even today its fans gush about it. Revolving around three wizard siblings, the series with its twists, funny dialogues and reflection of beautiful bonding among the family members and friends still remains as one of the most popular Disney productions.
While the show ended three years back, where did the stars go and what are they doing now? On the show's 8th anniversary, we take a look at their journey post-Wizards of Waverly Place.
Selena Gomez as Alex Russo
For four seasons, Selena Gomez entertained us with her smart character "Alex Russo". However, the 22-year-old "Slow Down" singer has been making news since then, for her chart topping music around the world. In 2013, with her debut solo album "Stars Dance" that reached number 1 in Billboard Top 200, Selena grabbed the spotlight. She even went on to win a Video Music Award (VMA) for the "Best Pop Video" for her top-ten single "Come & Get It" from the same album. Apart from music, her rocky relationship with Canadian pop star Justin Bieber, which went on for three years also drew attention. Currently, she is promoting her new album "Revival", whose lead single "Good for You" charted at number 9 in Billboard Hot 100, making it her highest debut ever.
David Henrie as Justin Russo
After playing "Justin Russo", the older brother of Alex, who always gets irritated by the latter; David Henrie went on to act in many popular shows. He played the character of "Luke Mosby", the future son of "Ted Mosby" in "How I Met Your Mother". David also gained recognition after writing two of the episodes of "Wizards of Waverly Place" – Alex's Logo and Meet the Werewolves. He also starred opposite to Taylor Lautner and Adam Sandler in the 2013 movie "Grown Ups". Currently, David is set to feature in the forthcoming biopic "Reagon," where he will play Ronald Reagon's younger self.
Jake T Austin as Max Russo
The youngest sibling of the three wizards, Justin T Austin played the role of "Max Russo", who was very fond of skateboards and had lesser power than his older siblings. After the show ended in January 2012, Justin lent his voice to the "Rio" movie series, thus; gaining recognition as a voice artist. Currently, he's starring as "Jesus Foster" in ABC produced teen drama "The Fosters".
Jennifer Stone as Harper Finkle
Jennifer Stone's portrayal of "Harper Finkle's" insecure-but-positive character made her perfect as Alex's best friend in the show. Post the series, she starred as "Hannah" in an episode of ABC produced medical drama "Body Of Proof". Jennifer landed the major role of her career by featuring as the protagonist in the television movie "High School Possession" in 2014. Currently, she is studying Biology in college, according to J-14 Magazine.
Gregg Sulkin as Mason Greyback
Portraying the character of "Mason Greyback", who became Alex's boyfriend; Gregg Sulkin continued to be under the spotlight even after the show ended. He starred in "Pretty Little Liars" as Ian Harding's (Ezra) younger brother. Currently, he is featuring in a romantic-comedy "Faking It" that premiered last year.
Dan Benson as Zeke Beakerman
Although Zeke Beakerman's character, who was Justin's best friend in the show became popular among fans, Dan Benson couldn't survive in the industry after the series ended. He is often seen hanging out with his former co-stars David Henrie and Gregg Sulkin (Mason Greyback).
Maria Canals Barrera as Theresa Russo
Maria Barrero through her character "Theresa Russo" played the role of a normal mother who is "overprotective" of her children. Like Jake T Austin, she is also acclaimed as a voice actress. Currently, she is portraying "Daniela" in the ABC produced show "Cristela".
David DeLuise as Jerry Russo
David DeLuise, who played the role of former family wizard and father of the Russo kids, "Jerry Russo" is also a renowned director. In fact, he directed several episodes of the series itself. Post-show, he went on to direct many episodes of "See Dad Run", "How to Rock", "The Thundermans", and "Lab Rats".
Bridgit Mendler as Juliet van Heusen
Playing the character of Justin's love interest, "Juliet Heusen"; Bridgit Mendler quickly became an international sensation after the series.
