They are taking the music scene by storm so it is no surprise that UK rapper Wretch 32 is proud of rising act Krept and Konan fulfilling their dream.

The London-based duo have performed with Kanye West, collaborated with the likes of Zayn Malik and Ed Sheeran, and have now released their debut album titled The Long Way Home.

Traktor hitmaker Wretch 32 has worked with the rappers several times in the past and told IBTimes UK backstage at the Wireless Festival 2015 that the pair are great role models for the UK rap scene.

Wretch, real name Jermaine Sinclair, said: Its always a new chapter when its somebody new, but everything under the sun has been done.

But theyre two incredibly talented, incredibly hard-working individuals and theyve pushed for this. Im watching them live their dream and I love that. Ive got nothing but love for them.

Comparing the increasing amount of urban acts performing at Wireless several years ago to now, the Dont Go musician added: Ive been coming to Wireless for so many years and when I first started performing I didnt see many of us back here.

Maybe I saw Chip, maybe I saw Tinie [Tempah], maybe I saw Tinchy [Stryder] – it wasnt a lot. But now... its inspiring to me to know that Im still here in this rollout, so its a great look.

Wretch released his second album Black And White in 2011 and the record peaked at number four on the UK charts. He has since worked with the likes of Sheeran and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini.

Explaining whether his time out of the spotlight and a period of reflection has changed his view of the music industry, Wretch said: No, my opinion in general is just to work at what youre good at. My thing is making music. Its not about taking pictures and thats why I disappeared for so long.

Wretch is yet to set a release date for his anticipated second album.
