Microsoft is reportedly set to release the Windows 10 Mobile update to its devices like the Lumia 640, Lumia 930, Lumia 830 and several others this week. Owners of the Lumia devices have been waiting for the release of the operating system for months now.
Italian website Windows Blog Italia (via MSPowerUser) has claimed that Windows 10 Mobile update will be rolled out to Lumia handsets on Thursday, March 17. However, it didn't mention the devices that are expected to get the software update.
The report about Microsoft's plan to release the new software comes after Evan Blass of VentureBeat claimed that Microsoft has revealed in an email to partners that the software update will come this month after the Lumia 950 and 950 XL receive the regular monthly service updates. It went on to say that the software roll out would be passive initially, which means users will have to update manually, before being pushed out actively at a later date.
It may be mentioned that Vodafone Italy had earlier made a false claim that the Windows 10 Mobile OTA update would be rolled out to the Lumia 535, Lumia 635, Lumia 735, Lumia 830, Lumia 930 and Lumia 1520 between March 7 and March 13.

Microsoft Lumia Mexico also claimed in a Facebook post that the software would be pushed out to Lumia devices on Feb. 29, but it turned out to be false. It was also rumoured that the Lumia 535 and Lumia 640 had already received the software update in Latin America and Poland, respectively.
