Microsoft is taking more time than expected to roll out its new operating system, Windows 10 Mobile. It hasn't come up with the software update schedule but several devices have received it, and the latest to get it is the Verizon version of Nokia Lumia Icon.
Verizon Wireless' software update page has listed the Lumia Icon's last update as June 23, 2016, hinting that the device is set to get the OS update, according to WindowsCentral. It went on to say that software update should take the Lumia Icon straight to build 10586.420 or after being upgraded to 10586.318.
It may be noted that it is a prerequisite to install the Microsoft Upgrade Advisor app from Windows Store to check the availability of the new software and installation. The OS update notification should ideally appear on the screen of your handset as and when the upgrade is available.
The Lumia Icon was released in 2014 with Windows Phone 8 on board (upgraded to Windows Phone 8.1). It sports a 5-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 1,080x1,920 pixels (441 ppi pixel density), a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, a 32GB internal memory, a 2GB RAM, a 20MP main camera with Carl Zeiss optics, OIS, autofocus, dual-LED flash, 1/1.5" sensor size, 1.12 µm pixel size and PureView technology, a 1.2MP front-snapper, and a 2,420mAh battery.
Microsoft had earlier said that devices running Windows Phone 8.1 such as the Lumia 1520, Lumia 930, Lumia 640, Lumia 640XL, Lumia 730, Lumia 735, Lumia 830, Lumia 532, Lumia 535, Lumia 540, Lumia 635 1GB, Lumia 636 1GB, Lumia 638 1GB, Lumia 430, Lumia 435, BLU Win HD w510u, BLU Win HD LTE x150q and MCJ Madosma Q501 are eligible for Windows 10 Mobile update.
