Singer Willie Nelson's fans were recently in a state of shock after fake reports about his death started doing the rounds on the internet. However, the 84-year-old singer is alive and well.
Nelson became a victim of celebrity death hoaxes, again, after a fake article started going viral online. The article said the singer was found dead in his Maui house. The same article was circulated in 2015 as well and two years later, it fooled several readers again.

"Willie [Nelson] is so used to being killed off by the internet that he just laughs it off now," an insider told HollywoodLife.com. "It seems like every other week another death hoax pops up, and he takes it all in stride. His family is more hurt by the rumours, but it's like water off a duck's back to Willie. He has a wicked sense of humour, and he's still very much alive and kicking."
In April, the singer released a song titled Still Not Dead that took a dig at his infamous 2015 death hoax. "I woke up still not dead again today / The internet said I had passed away / If I died I wasn't dead to stay / And I woke up still not dead again today," the lyrics read.
But Nelson is not the only celebrity to become the victim of the death hoax. Recently, legendary actress Betty White, who is 95-year-old now, was also targeted online. In a similar incident, a 2014 satire piece on Betty resurfaced on social media recently that freaked out fans. But the satire piece was about Betty dying her hair, while fans mistook it as Betty died.
Canadian punk rocker Avril Lavigne also became the victim of the celebrity death hoax. Several social media users circulated a theory that the singer died in 2003 and it is her lookalike, who is pretending to be the singer.
