"Siya Ke Ram," which is gearing up for the war between Ram (Ashish Sharma) and Raavan (Karthik Jayaram), is expected to come to an end in September.
According to India Forums report, the mythological show will be replaced by Ekta Kapoor's new show "Chandragupt Maurya."
"Chandragupt Maurya" has been creating tremendous buzz ever since Rajat Tokas of "Jodha Akbar" fame has been roped in to play the lead role. Shweta Basu Prasad of "Makdee" fame has reportedly been roped in to play the female lead opposite Rajat. Shweta will play the role of Chandragupta's wife Nandini.
The show will also see Arpit Ranka as the main antagonist, Raja Padmanabhan, the King of Kalinga. Arpit is popular for his on-screen character Duryodhan in "Mahabharat." Papiya Sengupta will be seen in the role of Moora, Chandragupta's mother.
"Arpit and Papiya recently got finalised for the roles. The team will be shooting the pilot very soon, with these main characters," a source had earlier told Tellchakkar.com.
"Siya Ke Ram" narrates the "Ramayana" from Sita's perspective and has been gaining overwhelming responses from viewers. The talented cast including Ashish Sharma (Ram), Madirakshi Mundle (Sita), Karan Suchak (Lakshmana) and Danish Akhtar Saifi (Hanuman) have immensely contributed in the show's success.
