Netflix's Gilmore Girls revival titled Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life ended on a major cliffhanger with Lorelai happily married and a single Rory announcing she was pregnant. The scene cut to credits before viewers were told anything about the baby's father, and this has left fans wanting more.
It has always been show creator Amy Sherman-Palladino's dream to end the series in a 'life repeats itself' way, and she is happy that fans are finding it difficult to move on. But she is not immediately looking forward to yet another revival.
"No one is talking about that right now," she told TVLine. "We're all very tired. I have to finish this Amazon pilot, which I'm very proud of. Dan and I have been in a Gilmore cocoon for a year and a half. It's been very intense. So we're stepping back now. We're happy it's out. We're happy we can talk about it," she added.
However, she noted that she wasn't saying a no to the possibility of coming out with yet another instalment. Quite a number of fans believe a future instalment, if it materializes, should focus on Rory's relationship with Jess, who they believe will become what Luke was to Lorelai and help her in raising the baby. As for who the father of the baby is, a majority feel it could be none other than Logan's.
But it is too soon to say anything about the plot as well, as Sherman-Palladino said she hasn't thought about where the story could go next. "People have asked me, 'What is Rory writing in the book?' And I'm like, 'I don't know what the hell she writes in the book'," she added.
Gilmore Girls is currently available on Netflix.
