Will Sunny Leone’s ‘Ragini MMS 2’ Affect ‘Queen’ Box Office Run in India?

Horror flick "Ragini MMS 2", starring Sunny Leone, is all set to hit the screens this Friday. The film is a sequel to 2011's "Ragini MMS" which had opened to decent occupancy.

But "Ragini MMS 2" is expected to open well, thanks to the presence of former porn star Leone. The horror-thriller has already made its presence felt with its popular songs. Two songs from the film - "Baby Doll" and "Chaar Botal Vodka" - have already become chart-topping numbers.

The film has been promoted quite well, starting from reality shows to top television shows. Despite being a budget film, "Ragini MMS 2" is expected to have a decent opening weekend and dominate screens across the country.

Till now, Kangana Ranaut's "Queen" dominated the theatres but its collections are expected to get affected with the release of the Leone starrer.

"Queen" will enter its third week and the film's hence the screen count will go down drastically. The low screen count will directly affect the earnings of the film.

"Out of the four releases on the coming Friday, Ekta Kapoor's Ragini MMS clearly has the edge! The two factors that should ensure a great opening are - 1) Great music, which has caught on fabulously among the youth and 2) Erotica - A theme that gets a big chunk of the mass movie going public excited! More so, the brand Ragini MMS is synonymous with great horror on the silver screen and these elements should ensure that the producers laugh their way to the banks," Exhibitor-distributor Akshaye Rathi told Bollywoodlife.com.

There are possibilities of "Ragini MMS 2" overshadowing both new releases and old films, though all depends on how the horror flick opens on its first day.
