Although director Sanjay Leela Bhansali has been tight-lipped about his next project, rumour has it that the film may star Shah Rukh Khan in the lead. Fresh reports state Deepika Padukone is being considered too.
The film will be set in a different time and will apparently deal with history, wrote SpotboyE. Also, an insider asserted that Deepika's absence from Sanjay's impromptu National Awards bash (held last week) hasn't affected their working relationship.
"So what? Would that stop Bhansali from having a good actress in his movie? What has his party got to do with his work?," the source told the entertainment portal.
If Shah Rukh and Deepika share screen space in Sanjay's next, it will be their fourth film together after "Om Shanti Om" (2007), "Chennai Express" (2013), and "Happy New Year" (2014).
Meanwhile, Sanjay has rubbished the casting speculations as baseless. He is working on the script and will announce the film in 15 days time. "So, I am getting restless now. I just want to start with a film right now. In 15 days, I will announce the film," he told the Press Trust of India.
The ace filmmaker also said that his expertise lies in love stories but he will experiment with his next. However, Sanjay was quick to clear that he isn't aiming at a masala entertainer like "Rowdy Rathore" (which was co-produced by his banner — SLB Films).
"Sometimes you come up with the best when you are out of your comfort zone. I want to do something unexpected, that people do not expect from me. It will keep me on a high alert. I will be more focused," he told the news agency.
Several other narratives relating to Sanjay's next have been doing the rounds. Ranveer Singh and Deepika coming together for their "Bajirao Mastani" director is one of them. According to a BollywoodLife source the two will be seen in modern-day love story, which will be shot extensively in Europe.
