Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan briefly reunited on celluloid for Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. Within no time, there were reports claiming that they have been signed up for director Karan Johar's next. Turns out, there isn't any truth to the news.
Johar put a lid on speculations by saying he has no clue about what is next and therefore reports of him having finalised the lead cast is a bit of a stretch, Deccan Chronicle reported. The Koffee With Karan host will take a two-week break in December to collect his thoughts and return with a few ideas, hopefully.
"No, these are all rumours and conjectures. I don't even know the script of my next film. How can I have a cast? I have no clue what I am making next. I am taking off in December for two weeks to go somewhere and centre my thoughts. I will come back with new, renewed vigour in the new year," he elaborated.
This comes after Bachchan quashed rumours about her working in a film with Khan. She said that the news about her taking up a project with the superstar is just gossip, and added that she will let the media know once she has finalised a script.
Why is Bachchan and Khan working together a big deal?
Years ago, the ADHM actress was pulled on board Chalte Chalte, but her then boyfriend Salman Khan dropped by the sets uninvited and created a scene. Later, the makers decided to replace Bachchan with Rani Mukerji.
Since then, the two have not shared screen space. Even though they were never in a cold war, their professional rapport was affected by the incident.
