Samsung is reportedly floating a new Galaxy C series with an aim to produce more mid-range smartphones. The Galaxy C5 and Galaxy C7 are said to be the first to come out of the series, and now it has emerged that the former may sport a metal body.
Pictures of the Galaxy C5 with model number SM-C5000 have been leaked and a France website NoWhereEsle (via SamMobile) has published them. The Galaxy C5 is spotted with a metal body in the pictures.
A report by SamMobile China (via SamMobile) has claimed that the Galaxy C5 and Galaxy C7 could be released in May, and that devices from the C series might fall between Samsung's budget and high-end smartphones.
There are reports that the Galaxy C5 and Galaxy C7 could be made available only in China, but there are hints that they could be released in other markets, at least the Galaxy C5. A device with model number SM-C5000, believed to be the Galaxy C5, has been spotted on Zauba, a website that tracks imports and exports in India. The device with a 5.2-inch display has been sent to Bangalore for testing and R&D purpose.
The device with model number SM-C5000 has been spotted on Geekbench benchmark with a Snapdragon 617 SoC processor clocking at 1.5GHz, an octa-core CPU, Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, Adreno 405 GPU and a 4GB RAM.
