The Partner 2 chapter was closed years ago after Salman Khan rejected the ideas that David Dhawan had for the sequel. But that may change soon.
Khan may be seen in a cameo role in Partner 2, Super Cinema reported. Sajid-Farhad is believed to have been approached to direct the film and Eros International is backing it. However, there has been no official announcement yet.
Khan had earlier turned down the offer to star in the film because he was cautious about the kind of roles he was choosing. Dhawan had reached out to Khan with a few possible story arcs but none impressed him.
"We didn't get the right script. Also, Salman got too busy and has commitments to fulfil, before he undertakes fresh assignments. Besides, the remake of CHASHME BUDDOOR [directed by David] starts filming shortly. Hence, we mutually decided to drop the idea of making the sequel," Bollywood Hungama quoted Dhawan as saying.
Partner featured Khan, Katrina Kaif, Govinda and Lara Dutta in the lead. The film was about a love guru who gives tips for wooing a woman the right way.
Will he have time for a cameo in Partner 2?
Even though Khan has a busy schedule ahead, a cameo will not take up much of his time. After wrapping up Bigg Boss 10, he will, in all probabilities, begin Ali Abbas Zafar's Tiger Zinda Hai alongside Katrina Kaif. Dabangg 3 is another film that he needs to take a call on.
Meanwhile, Kaif has promised that the sequel of Ek Tha Tiger (Tiger Zinda Hai) will be as fun as its predecessor and will pick up from where the previous one left. "If you've loved the action in Ek Tha Tiger, this will blow you over for sure. I'll just say that much," she told DNA. Expected to arrive in theatres on Christmas 2017, Tiger Zinda Hai is Kaif and Khan's fifth film together.
