It appeared like Motorola would roll out the Android 7.0 Nougat update to some of its popular devices in the beginning of the fourth quarter of this year. In October, reports claimed that the Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus had already got the firmware update, but it turned out to be false.
The Lenovo-owned company announced in a blog post that it would start rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat update to the Moto Z and Moto G (4th Gen) devices in the fourth quarter of this year. As expected, it seeded the OS to the Moto Z and Moto Z Force devices in November but is yet to do so to the Moto G4, Moto G4 Plus and Moto G4 Play.

Now, the question is when Motorola will roll out Android 7.0 Nougat update to the Moto G4, Moto G4 Plus and Moto G4 Play before making it available to other eligible handsets. December is here, which means the fourth quarter of the year will end soon. So, the handsets should get the firmware in the next 25 days if Motorola keeps its words.
The Chinese technology giant has confirmed that its devices like the Moto G4, Moto G4 Plus, Moto G Play (4th Gen), Moto X Pure Edition (3rd Gen), Moto X Style, Moto X Play, Moto X Force, Droid Turbo 2, Droid Maxx 2, Moto Z, Moto Z Droid, Moto Z Force Droid, Moto Z Play, Moto Z Play Droid, and Nexus 6 would get Google's new operating system.
However, it is not known if popular Motorola handsets like the Moto X (2nd Gen), Moto X (3rd Gen), Moto G3, Moto E3 and Moto E3 Power will get the firmware.
