After starring in a few Tamil films, actress Shubha Poonja forayed into Sandalwood with the film "Jackpot 2006," but it was her brilliant performance in director Shashank's female-centric movie "Moggina Manassu," which brought her to the limelight. After six years, the Mangalorean beauty is all set to feature in another women-oriented film, which has been titled "Meenakshi."
Having played many glamourous roles, Shubha is set to rock the Kannada audience with her action-girl avatar. The actress says that she has done a few stunts for the movie under the direction of stunt master Danny. Interestingly, she has shot these fight scenes without using a body double.
"I have done fighting sequences in 'Meenakshi' choreographed by stunt master Danny. The stunt master planned it in a very different manner," the actress told The Deccan Chronicle. "I am in a fight scene with another female artist in a prison set-up. It was risky, especially when I did the scene without any duplicate artist. It seems to have come of well and I hope the audience will like my new avatar in Meenakshi."
Directed by Sridhar, "Meenakshi" also features actor-turned-model Raghu Mukherjee. Vaani Harikrishna is composing music for the film and Shubha's screen presence is said to be on par with the male lead.
A source from the production team claims that the actress' breathtaking stunt scenes will be one of the main attractions in the film. Hence, she is very confident of its prospects at the Box Office and explains: "I am confident that 'Meenakshi' will do what 'Moggina Manassu' has done for my career."
The actress also has a few other interesting projects like "Samosa", "Chirayu", "Artha" and "Tarle Nan Maklu" in her kitty.
