The latest buzz in tinsel town is that Bollywood diva Kareena Kapoor will soon be seen sharing screen space with former co-star and her sister Karisma Kapoor's ex-fiance Abhishek Bachchan in director Umesh Shukla's next project.
The "OMG Oh My God!" fame Umesh Shukla has roped in Abhishek Bachchan for his next venture titled "Mere Apne" and his hunt for the female lead of the family drama was at full throttle. But as per the recent reports, the director has zeroed in on Kareena Kapoor and had an hour-long meeting before signing her.
Although no official confirmation has been made, it is rumoured that Kareena is quite excited about the project and might even give her nod for it once the script is narrated to her which is reportedly scheduled for Monday.
If Kareena takes up the project, it will be her third film with Abhishek. The duo was last seen together on the big screen a decade ago in Sooraj Barjatiya's "Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon". The movie, which also starred Hrithik Roshan, bombed at the box office. They made their Bollywood debut through J.P Dutta's "Refugee".
The duo used to share a cordial relationship until Karisma Kapoor, who was then engaged to Junior Bachchan, broke off the engagement. They haven't acted together since then.
Scheduled to be shot in Himachal Pradesh, Sikkim, and London, "Mere Apne" will also feature Rishi Kapoor who will be seen taking up the role of Abhishek's father.
Kareena is presently shooting for Prakash Jha's "Satyagraha" also starring Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgn and Arjun Rampal, while Abhishek is filming for "Dhoom 3" which features Aamir Khan and Katrina Kaif in lead roles.
