The latest buzz in tinsel town is that ace filmmaker Karan Johar is planning to team up with Bollywood superstar Salman Khan for his next venture.
According to reports, Salman will play lead role in a movie that will be produced by Karan's Dharma Productions and directed by ace director Rohit Shetty. The film' makers are reportedly in talks with Salman for the project.
Salman is considered as one of the most successful actors of the Hindi film industry after he gave back-to-back hits like "Wanted," "Ready," "Bodyguard," "Dabangg," "Ek Tha Tiger" and "Dabangg 2."
If Salman does decide to do the movie, it will be his second venture with Karan after the 1998 release "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai." The actor had played a key role in Karan's directorial debut which also starred Shahrukh Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukherjee.
Karan has so far directed five movies out of which four featured his buddy Sharukh in lead roles. These movies include "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai," "Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham," "Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna" and "My Name Is Khan", all of which were blockbuster hits.
To everyone's surprise, Karan expressed his desire to work with Shahrukh's rival Salman, raising several eyebrows as the director-producer always preferred Shahrukh over other actors.
Elaborating on the actor's brand value Karan said, "Salman's star power goes beyond his films. People go to see a film just because it has Salman Khan. He is more than just a superstar," IANS reported.
"My debut film had him. I have offered many films to him... It would be a dream for anyone to have him work for them. He is a big ticket."
This will also be the first time Salman will be working with Rohit Shetty who has cast several prominent Bollywood actors including Ajay Devgn, Abhishek Bachchan, Kareena Kapoor and Asin Thottumkal for his movies. Shetty's upcoming film "Chennai Express" stars Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Podukone in lead roles.
