These days, stars do not just want to be the face of a film. Quite a few have shown interest in the many processes that filmmaking entails and Hrithik Roshan is one of them.
The superstar has assisted father Rakesh Roshan on a string of films before making his debut with Kaho Na... Pyaar Hai. And now, after 16 years of acting, he is looking at a career move. However, this is not to say that he will give up acting, something he is really good at.
The 42-year-old star's father, Rakesh Roshan, told DNA that Hrithik will surely direct a film, only there's no time-frame or a concrete plan around the idea yet. "He has assisted me on several of my films before he was launched as a hero in Kaho Na... Pyaar Hai. So you could say he has been training in direction for a very long time," he added.
While the general opinion is that the father-son duo interfered in the creative process of Kaabil, Rakesh said all they did was help director Sanjay Gupta with whatever he needed and never for once meddled with his decisions.
"I went to the sets only on the first day to give the first 'clap'. After that, it was Sanjay Gupta's baby. But yes, our involvement was there throughout, as Sanjay, Hrithik and I were on the same page. There were no ego issues among us," he added.
Kaabil, scheduled to be released on January 26, is a revenge-drama film with a touch of love. Hrithik and Yami Gautam will be seen playing a visually-impaired couple struck by tragedy. Although the premise is interesting and is definitely something the actor hasn't experimented with before, it may have trouble owning the box office, considering Shah Rukh Khan's Raees releases on the same day.
