South Korean singer-actor Jung Joon Youg has been acquitted in the sexual assault controversy and doesn't want to think about it. The 27-year-old, who is focusing on his work now, will not take any action against the complainant - his ex-girlfriend.
Joon Young recently revealed that he has no plans to press charges against his ex-girlfriend for the false accusation. "As written in the prosecutor's report, we do not plan to sue [the ex-girlfriend]," Joon Young's staff told TV Report.
The report further stated that the case has already damaged Joon Young's reputation, which is why he does not want to get involved in another legal battle.
Joon Young's ex-girlfriend had filed the sexual assault case in September. Soon, Joon Young issued a statement and said that whatever happened was consensual. But it failed to stop the issue from becoming a controversy.
The case went on to hog the limelight due to which Joon Young was forced to leave several shows including Law of the Jungle, 2 Days & 1 Night and Mr Baek: The Homemade Food Master.
During a press conference, the actor even apologised to his fans for the scandal. There are reports that Joon Young will return to 2 Days & 1 Night, but it is still not clear when will he make a comeback.
Meanwhile, Joon Young has taken a break from his professional commitments and now plans to focus only on music. The singer-actor is spending time in France and simultaneously working on his album.
"Jung Joon Young is going to France this week to work on music," a source told Star News on October 14, adding that, "he is not yet thinking about a return to TV broadcasts."
