Jr NTR's "Rabhasa" is all set to hit the screens worldwide on 29 August for the Ganesh Chathurthi weekend.
Directed by Santhosh Srinivas, "Rabhasa" is touted to be a family drama with all the commercial elements including action, romance, songs and emotions.
The film has Samantha and Pranitha playing the female leads. Nassar, Jayasudha, Seetha and Brahmanandam are also part of the film's cast. Music composer Thaman has worked on the soundtracks. The NTR starrer is produced by Bellamkonda Suresh of Lakshmi Narasimha Productions.
The producer is confident that "Rabhasa" will turn out to be a huge hit at the box office. This is the second time that Suresh has collaborated with NTR post the success of their 2002-release "Aadi." Suresh is certain that "Rabhasa" will create box office history, reported the Times of India.
The film is carrying huge expectations from NTR's fans. Positive pre-release buzz, advance booking combined with NTR's star power will ensure that the film gets a good opening. The long weekend of Ganesh Chathurthi is an added advantage and is likely to boost the film's business prospects.
While "Rabhasa" can be assured of a good opening, its overall performance will depend on the word of mouth.
Some film distributors feel that there is nothing new in "Rabhasa" story. "More than plot, its racy entertainer with loads of action and dancing from nimble-footed dancer, but story-wise is not truly novel or path-breaking," one distributor told Gulte.
If "Rabhasa" manages to get positive reviews from the critics and the audience, it is likely to continue its good run and emerge successful at the box office. The film will not have any big competition at least for a week until the release of Ravi Teja's "Power," which is set to hit the screens on 5 September.
In 2013, NTR had a mixed year with one of his films hitting the jackpot while the other failed to set the cash registers ringing. "Rabhasa" will be the only NTR release of 2014 and so the actor will be hoping to end the year with a big hit.
