American actress Jennifer Lawrence is the talk of the town not because of her latest movie "The Hunger Games Mockingjay: Part 1", but because of the song "The Hanging Tree".
With this sound track from her new film, Lawrence did not just make her singing debut but she added a new star to her stardom. The actress joined the list of elite pop singers, including Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran and Olly Murus among others.
"The Hanging Tree", which is co-written by rock band The Lumineers and composer James Newton, sits at 29th position with its mid-week sales, according to Official Charts Company.
However, Director Francis Lawrence recently revealed that the "X-Men" star was very nervous and horrified to sing. "I knew she didn't love the idea of singing, but I didn't realise how nervous she was until when we started the first take, and she was in tears," he told Vulture.
Nevertheless, she received global recognition for her singing ability and her song is on the top ten list of UK's iTunes countdown chart.
Meanwhile, by giving life to the lines of "Hunger Games", the 24-year-old has got in the list of popular Hollywood actors who can sing too, including renowned actress Gwyneth Paltrow.
But the similarities between Lawrence and Paltrow do not end here. Both the celebs began their acting career as teenagers on television.
While Paltrow made her acting debut through the short film "High" (1989), Lawrence started her acting career as Lauren Pearson in TBS's "The Bill Engvall Show". Moreover, both celebrities have Chris Martin in their lives.
Over the years Lawrence might come up with more tracks to prove her singing ability but, as of now, there are no indications of the celeb's next music project.
