Dame Helen Mirren, who is currently busy playing Queen Elizabeth II on Broadway, confessed to Seth Meyers that she has hopes to play a much racier role in the future. The acting legend revealed that ever since she saw him speak at a ceremony, she has been "a little bit in love" with Vin Diesel.
And, from her love for the actor, also sprouted the love for the "Fast & Furious" franchise. She issued a public appeal to consider her for a role in the next movie of the franchise.
She also said that she has experience driving fast cars, for example, when she drove a Land Rover as the Queen and got stuck in a river all on her own. This being at least the second time Mirren has expressed her desire to work on the Furious franchise, here is hoping that the movie-makers will pay heed to the Oscar Winner.
Earlier in April, Mirren had told ET that she wanted to star in a "Fast and Furious" film for years and has been waiting for a call from Vin Diesel. During the premiere of her new film, "Woman in Gold" she had said, "Vin, get your act together!"
In response to her appeal, Vin Diesel replied, "I respect that she's coming out and saying, 'I don't care what anyone thinks. I know the deal. I know I want to work with this dude, and I know I want to work with this franchise.'"
Diesel even proposed a couple of roles that she could play in the next "Fast and Furious" movie: "You've got Nathalie Emmanuel's mother. You've got, of course, the matriarch to the Shaw brothers!"
It remains to be seen whether this dream casting will be made a reality by the franchise. What character would you like to see Helen Mirren play in "Fast and Furious"? Let us know in the comments below.
