Stephen Amell in and as ArrowCWArrow/Facebook

The "Arrow" Season 4 finale may have received negative reactions from fans, but actor Stephen Amell seems quite kicked about the show's next season which, according to him, will go back to basics. However, with "The Flash" Season 2 finale putting in a major twist — one that should logically affect "Arrow's" storyline too — it remains to be seen how Amell's promise plays out in Season 5.

During the recently-held CW Upfronts, Amell was asked if "The Flash" finale will affect "Arrow" in any way, to which he replied: (via ComicBook)

"I don't know. I do know that we've done a lot of work on Arrow to introduce the other shows, for lack of a better term, and now that that's all done, we're focused on doing the things that we do well for Season 5."

When asked if that meant bringing it 'back to basics,' Amell said, "Yes, that's exactly right. Arrow is at its best when we're dealing with problems in Star City. We're not a time-travel show, we're not a multi-Earth show, though obviously [we do that] with crossovers and stuff like that. We're Arrow, we deal with Star City, and I feel like we'll be better off focusing on that."

Maybe the makers will now spill parts of the super/meta-human stuff happening on "The Flash," to "Supergirl" (which has now moved to The CW) and leave "Arrow" in the realm of reality.
