Actress Deepika Padukone might groove to an item number in Salman Khan's upcoming film "Kick", if things work out.
It was recently reported by Mid Day that director Sajid Nadiadwala had approached the actress for the song. While Padukone made it evident earlier that she was eager to work with the superstar, the item song proposal brings to the fore certain dilemmas for the actress.
For starters, she had recently rejected an item song for Subhash Ghai's "Kaanchi", which was proposed by Rishi Kapoor. Ghai explained that Padukone had refused the song as she did not entertain the idea of special appearances and giving her nod to the "Kick" song would mean a flood of other such offers.
Since Padukone is presently working on Farah Khan's "Happy New Year" (HNY) she might also not want to do a film with Nadiadwala at the same time, considering Khan doesn't get along with him.
The duo has once shared a warm equation, but things became sour when Khan's husband Shirish Kunder walked out of "Kick" over differences. Additionally, Nadiadwala also fell out with Sajid Khan.
Also to be noted is the obvious Salman-Shah Rukh rivalry. Padukone was launched by SRK in "Om Shanti Om" and yet again her appearance in blockbuster "Chennai Express" gave a strong push to her film career. And just when the actress is already working with SRK in "HNY", a special appearance for Salman's "Kick" seems to be a tricky idea.
While the actress is said to have liked the concept of the special song offered in "Kick", her approval or rejection remains to be seen, reported Deccan Chronicle.
It should be noted that Padukone was one of the forerunners for the role of leading lady in "Kick" but the project eventually went to Jacqueline Fernandez.
