The legal battle between two former EXO members Kris, Luhan and popular South Korean record label SM Entertainment has taken a new turn as the contract nullification case will finally be taken to court.

The decision of Seoul Central District Court reportedly came in response to the failed attempt of both the parties to end their legal disputes through discussions.

The ex-members of the Chinese-Korean boy band and their legal representatives recently met the entertainment agency. But, they failed to resolve their issues and the case is currently taken to court for standard civil proceedings.

While the "Miss Granny" star, Luhan, will have his first hearing on 19 August, the "Somewhere Only We Know" actor Kris will have it on 2 September.

Earlier, it was stated that the standard civil proceedings will have a negative impact on the professional lives of both the celebs as their activities will be put on hold for a long time. So it remains to be seen whether they will decide to settle the case with SM Entertainment outside of court or not.

However, the entertainment agency had previously claimed that the statements released by Chinese entertainers clearly indicated that they were focusing on person gains.

"The fact that the two of them sought legal action for the same reason with the same legal representative when there were no issues can only mean one thing. They are prioritising personal success and putting it before everyone involved including the agency and group now that they have gained fame through group activities," stated the agency, according to Koreaboo.
