AMC will air the sixth season of "The Walking Dead" in October, and like any other season, fans are eager to know who all will make it past the season.
Speculations are rife that at least one character from the core group will die in season 6, something that hasn't surprised many "The Walking Dead" fans, as viewers have now accepted the fact that no one's life is safe in the zombie apocalypse.
Although "The Walking Dead" is largely based on Robert Kirkman's comic books of the same name, it has slightly deviated from its source material in such a way that some characters that are dead in the books are still alive on the show. The show has also introduced new characters, making it difficult for fans to predict their story arcs.
Despite all this, fans of the series have their hopes set on at least the core group members staying alive till the series finale.
According to Screenrant, the show could end on a happy note if most of the core group members, including Rick, Carl, Daryl, Glenn, Carol, and Morgan stay alive till the finale and express some "hope for a stable future."
In an earlier interview, Kirkman too hinted that the show could end on a positive note, as the drama is all about humanity overcoming challenges and hurdles.
"People talk about how 'The Walking Dead' is very bleak, and if you take a certain cross-section of the story, yeah, it's horrible," Kirlman told Wtfpod. "People [are] getting their loved ones eaten and they're having a horrible time. But I see the story from beginning to end, over many, many years, so I think it's a very hopeful story about humanity overcoming this insurmountable, apocalyptic situation … it's just gonna take them a long time to do it."
"I do hope that 'The Walking Dead' goes on long enough that when it ends, it's like, 'Good thing we took care of those zombies,'" he added.
