Batman fans cannot disagree that Christian Bale's portrayal of the Cape Crusader has been the closest to the best. The actor acted opposite Heath Ledger's The Joker and nailed the performance, leaving shoes hard to fill.

But when the DC actor found that Ben Affleck was taken on board to play Batman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, he decided to step down as the Dark Knight and let Affleck take over. But has he given up on the superheroes genre? Will we see Bale donning a superhero outfit in a universe parallel to Justice League? The actor says no.
The Batman actor has downright denied any interest in superhero genre and confirms that he will not be seen playing a superhero role in the future. Talking to Collider while promoting his recent film, The Promise, Bale was asked if there was a possibility of him suiting up for a superhero role and the actor immediately shot the idea down.
"No, I'm not interested in doing that. I've never seen — I'm trying to think if that's correct, I think I'm actually correct, I can't remember a single superhero film that I've ever watched. Apart from the ones I made and like, the Christopher Reeve Superman films... I have no understanding of it and I'm completely blind to it," he said.
It seems like the actor hasn't overcome his envy over the fact that Affleck was chosen over him to play Batman in the Justice League storyline. Fans would recall that when Bale decided to step down as the Batman, he confessed that he was in shock when the news of Affleck's Batman was told to him.
"When I heard there was someone else doing it, there was a moment where I just stopped and stared into nothing for half an hour. But I'm 40. The fact that I'm jealous of someone else playing Batman. I think I should have gotten over it by now. It was appropriate to leave at the right time," he said.
The actor is playing Chris in The Promise that released on April 21.
